Surf a little bigger this morning- around thigh high with the occasional waist high drop here and there.
Looked disorganized but small and fun, probably best to take out something real floaty like a fish or longboard.
Lately winds have been stronger at sun up then backing off around mid morning- currently SE around 8-12mph.

Surf is knee high this morning with a SSE winds at 15-20mph this morning, hoping it picks up by the end of the day....forecasted to be waist high by tonight or tomorrow and possibly bigger going into the week.
Water temp at 87 degrees.
Today's tides are:

high	6:44am	1.7ft
low	9:46pm	-0.6ft

+++The disturbance in the western carribean has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Alex -the 1st named storm for this year's Atlantic hurricane season. Still too far away to know how or if it will be impacting the texas coast with surf or weather yet but keep tuned over the next 48 hours.+++

Some more squalls came thru early again this morning but it's nice and sunny now...and the surf has bumped up a little more than yesterday- it's definitely longboardable, running knee high this morning.
Winds on the beach have been variable S-SE 5-15mph with the rain but has dropped to almost calm at the moment as the storms have passed...
Don't know if it will stay that size all day or if it was rain squall related and drop later but there is some small waves if you get on it now!

Water temp at 87 degrees this morning.

low	9:05pm	-0.7ft

+++Surf is supposed to pick up(wind swell) into the thigh to waist high range by tomorrow and stay there for a couple days.+++

The surf this morning has doubled what it was yesterday.....about knee high on a 5yr old, or double over ankle on the rest of us.
Water temp at 86 degrees.

Surf Report for 6-23-10

Keep your eyes on the Tropics as a developing system will likely become a tropical depression by thurs. Surf is ankle high today with SE winds at 5-10mph. Go stand up paddle or kayaking!!
